The Box-Kat is a physical mouse barrier that surrounds your parked vehicle to help keep house mice from reaching it. It's made up of 14-inch white panels joined by patented black flex connectors, and it's designed for long-term and offseason storage, indoors or out.

No. The dimensions we list describe the general shape and fit. 

The barrier can just as easily be set up in an oval-like shape, borrowing a few inches from the length to add to the width, as long as the perimeter stays closed. Use the flex connectors to make the turns.

We don't recommend reverse-bending the panels or bending them along new lines to change the shape.

The Box-Kat is made for offseason and long-term storage, not for the road. Set it up once around the parked vehicle and leave it in place until you're ready to travel again.

Mice are always on the hunt for food or a cozy place to nest. The Box-Kat’s durable plastic construction is neither edible nor easily chewable, deterring mice and other small rodents from trying to break through. When mice encounter the Box-Kat, they instinctively search for openings, a way over, or a path underneath. Finding none, they quickly move on in search of easier targets.

During testing, we placed 50 mice inside a Box-Kat enclosure. Not only did they fail to chew through the panels, but after 90 minutes, 80 percent of the mice gave up, piled into a corner, and went to sleep. The Box-Kat is proven to be a simple, humane solution to mice intrusion.

The Box-Kat stands two inches taller than the highest jump of a house mouse, making it impossible for them to leap over. Along the ground, the patented flex connectors help the barrier follow the surface and minimize gaps underneath, and a little site prep before setup helps close the rest.

Box-Kat is specifically designed to thwart house mice — the most frequent cause of vehicle rodent damage— and is extremely effective. Its height and panel texture are engineered to stop them from leaping over, burrowing under, climbing up, or chewing through.

It may also deter larger rodents such as rats or squirrels, but effectiveness can vary depending on their size and behavior.

For best results, make sure your setup is as level as possible and panels are securely clipped together.

The Box-Kat is designed for simple, tool-free assembly. The white panels and black flex connectors join with push-in fender clips, which make a strong, secure connection that's built to stay in place.

Yes, within reason. 

The patented black flex connectors let the barrier adjust to slight changes in slope, cracks, and dips, which is a real advantage over a rigid wooden or metal fence. It won't mold itself to every surface on its own, so the best results come from a little prep: clear tall grass and debris, rake gravel or dirt as smooth as you reasonably can, and place the flex connectors over the biggest changes in slope. On gravel or dirt, plan on a layer of galvanized mesh and a few stakes as well.

Yes! Box-Kat is built for indoor or outdoor use — but the elements can be a factor.

To keep your barrier securely in place, we recommend using an anchoring system such as:

• Water jugs, sandbags, or cinder blocks for hard surfaces
• Garden stakes for soil, grass, or gravel setups.

Set weights down gently on the inside half of the L-shaped braces. The acrylic braces are sturdy, but a dropped cinder block can crack them.

Make sure the ground is as flat as possible and clear of tall grass or debris. On gravel or dirt, plan on a bit more prep (raking, a layer of galvanized mesh, and stakes) before the barrier goes up. Proper prep = better performance.

The Box-Kat is crafted from high-quality, durable plastic materials, ensuring reliable performance and long-lasting protection. However, like any product, it may experience normal wear and tear over time. Exposure to extreme temperature fluctuations, UV rays, moisture, and wind can gradually impact its condition. Regular care and proper setup will help maximize its lifespan and effectiveness.

Yes. Email us at hello@box-kat.com with what you need and we'll let you know what's available and what it costs. Extra fender clips are also easy to find at any home improvement store or online.For more coverage, the 10-foot Expansion Kit. adds two panels along with connectors, clips, and braces. 

Currently, we do not offer spare fender clips, but suitable replacements can be found easily online. If you plan to open the barrier often, wing-nut screws are a better fit than fender clips at those connection points.

The Box-Kat is designed for long-term setup. Its push-in fender clips hold securely over time, which also makes them difficult to remove and reinstall repeatedly. 

For seasonal storage, most customers remove the clips at a few connection points, leave the panels partially assembled in 5-foot sections, and stack them flat.

If you'd like to take your kit apart often, substitute wing-nut screws for the fender clips at the connection points you'll open, the same way our daily-driver access point works.

While the Box-Kat delivers highly effective mouse protection, its performance relies on proper setup and routine maintenance. External factors such as wind, pets, or children can disturb the barrier, so occasional inspections are recommended to ensure it remains secure. If wind gusts reach 40mph, extra precautions anchoring the Box-Kat — including taking it down — may be necessary. A flying Box-Kat may not be useful again and can damage vehicles.

Our products are designed to deter mice and other small pests, but no system can guarantee complete prevention. Box-Kat makes no absolute guarantees of performance under all conditions.

We accept returns within 30 days of delivery, provided the product is unopened or in like-new condition. To be eligible, the item must be undamaged and returned in its original packaging.
